A fourth Super Bowl title continues to elude the New England Patriots since quarterback Tom Brady ditched his baby mama Bridget Monyahan to marry supermodel Giselle Budchen. Or perhaps the hex that has prevented Brady and the Pats from winning it all since Super Bowl XXXIX in 2005 was the result of "Spygate," the scandal in which Coach Bill Belichick was fined $500,000 and the team $250,000 for surreptitiously taping the signals of the New York Jets' coaching staff. With three wins and four losses, they are the only team with three or more SuperBowl victories to have a losing record in the NFL championship game since 1969. Founded as the Boston Patriots in 1960 as one of the founding franchises in the American Football League, the Pats lost the first two Super Bowls it played in, in 1985 and 1996. It was in the new millennium that Bill Belichick took the Pats to the promised land in his rookie season as head coach, winning Super Bowl XXXVI in 2000. The Pats repeated in 2003 and 2004. The Patriots racked up a perfect 16-0 record in the 2007 regular season, becoming the fourth team in NFL history to go undefeated in a season, and are the only team to do so in the 16 game season. It's bid for a perfect season was foiled when Eli Manning led his Giants to an upset victory in Super Bowl XLII. Manning and the Giants would repeat the upset four years later in Super Bowl XLVI.
